Palace Ruin (copy)
Loop of 14'25''
for 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers.
The sound installation was specifically made for Palace Ruin. Project by James Beckett together with TAAK.
Palace Ruin is deconstructed classical musical pieces originally programmed in the Crystal Palace. Thoughts of failure, sonic fissures, ridges, noise, ripped apart and fire form part of this sonic environment.
Palace Ruin is a fragment of Amsterdam’s own ‘Crystal Palace’, the Paleis voor Volksvlijt, which was rebuilt in part by artist James Beckett.
